At what age should my dog start training?
- Training starts the moment you bring your dog home to begin encouraging manners at an early age with food training.
How do I prepare for my new puppy or dog to come home for the first time?
- We can provide a list of tips as part of our courses.
Do you offer training to stop dog aggression?
- Yes, our Aggressive Behavior Refinement course evaluates and addresses aggression. However, very few dogs truly show aggression. A majority of our client's dogs exhibit poor manners of defensive barking, or leash reactivity that is misdiagnosed as aggression.
Do you offer training for separation anxiety?
- Yes, our Advanced Manners course evaluates and addresses separation anxiety through a structured lesson plan.
Can I setup an evaluation first?
- We can create a training plan over the phone based upon goals you want to work on with your dog and our detailed questionnaire. This allows us to start training immediately during the first session.
Do you train with Dominance & Submission techniques?
- Absolutely not.
Do you use positive reinforcement training?
- Of course we do, we even include a food pouch with our courses but we will teach you the other three quadrants of Operant Conditioning also.
- We also teach positive reinforcement in a unique way with a Remote Operated Food Dispenser
How many sessions do I need?
- We offer courses with varying private and group lessons based upon your dog's age and goals you set for them. Each course lists What to Expect as a guide for what the course consists of and our requirements.
How much does it cost if we have more than one dog?
- We offer two all inclusive training courses specifically for households with multiple dogs.

Does my older dog really need to be included in training?
- It's important that you hold all of your dogs accountable for their behavior choices. The dynamics of your household must include the same set of rules for all your dogs unless there is a medical exception.
What equipment do I need for training?
- We carry everything you will need to include prong collars, double handle leashes, recall lines, food pouches, and remote collars.
What if I already have equipment of my own?
- If the equipment is reliable, and in working order we will be able to use your equipment. However the equipment we use is chosen specifically because of its quality and durability.
- We only use E-Collar Technologies because of the ability to teach with a sound box.
If I have dependable equipment, will the price be reduced?
- Yes, we will discount the price of equipment you are not issued.
I’m not sure about remote collars. What if I want to try it first?
- We can demonstrate the benefits of training with them during the first session. Remote collars may be required to train with us and address certain behaivors.

Is there a travel fee to train outside Wilmington?
- Any training site outside Wilmington or New Hanover County may incur extra fees.
Do you offer remote training lessons?
- We offer video tutorials through Patreon and Google Meet Consultations.
Are the training sessions one on one or group sessions?
- Typically every first session is one on one with our trainers so you can begin learning with minimal distractions. Once you master new tools and techniques, controlled and safe group sessions are important to test reliable well-mannered behavior. Click HERE for more details.
Will you come to our home for training?
- In-home training is available for most courses, however we do not initially meet clients dogs in their home if they are exhibiting signs of defense or aggression. Dogs are typically immediately on guard of their home and this make opposition to training much more likely.
Do you offer "pay as you train" programs?
- Dog ownership is a lifestyle, proper training is part of that lifestyle. Pay as you train programs cause dog owners to cut corners and place expectations on their dogs in an unreasonable time frame. Because of the failure rate of these programs, we do not offer installment payments.
How often are appointments?
- Typically we meet once every two weeks. This allows owners to practice the techniques they have learned during in person lessons.
